Regardless of whether your conventional assembly products are produced using hand or wave conventional assembly 1soldered processes, we guarantee acceptance standards to class IPC A 610.

We have highly skilled operators ready to hand assemble components where wave-soldering is not appropriate. This capability can be utilised at all levels from initial very low volume, prototype products, through to the ongoing manufacture of complex, multi-technology PCB assemblies.

Quality control checks and maintenance procedures ensure the quality levels required by today’s demanding market sectors.

Lead Free Manufacturing

We take our responsibility to our staff, customers, the local community and the wider environment very seriously.

By the nature of the products involved, PCB manufacture can require the use of Lead Free Manufacturingsubstances which could be hazardous in the wrong situations.

We minimise the use of these substances by providing both lead-free and tin/lead manufacturing processes. Our management systems ensure we retain full control of components, including those covered by RoHs (EC Directive on Restrictions of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment).

Our processes help customers meet their obligations under WEEE (EC Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment), for both end of life and also original packaging materials.

Electrostatic Discharge Prevention

Electrostatic discharge (ESD) events can have serious detrimental effects on the manufacture ESDand performance of microelectronic devices, the systems that contain them, and the manufacturing facilities used to produce them.

Preventing ESD is of paramount importance and we have procedures in place that focus on:

• Eliminating static charges from the workplace.
• Properly shielding components and assemblies from static fields.

At CSM, all component / PCB handling areas are ESD (Electrostatic Dishcharge) protected including workwear, work benches, flooring, storage and handling.  Wrist straps or heel grounders are worn by all operators.
